A few thoughts:
1. Collect some items that most represented you as a JW. A couple that spring to my mind are: Your blood card/suicide pact document. If any one thing is a dub ID badge, that's it. Also, perhaps the main book you studied that hooked you into this monumental waste of life. For me it was the "Blue Bomb" aka, The Truth That Leads to Eternal Strife. And last, but not least, did you somehow manage to hang onto your secret decoder ring? (You know, the Elder Book?)
2. Cremate all of them. You'll need a pretty hot furnace if you want to produce the same kind of ash you get from a crematorium.
3. Let your imagination run wild with how to dispose of the ashes. A little here. (Assembly hall perhaps?) A little there. (Nearby Kingdumb Hall?) Or maybe dump them all in one big dramatic ending that has special significance to you.
4. I think including an outdoor location that puts you in touch with nature would be a good idea for at least part of your ritual.
5. Share it with all of us if you feel like it. We'll be glad to share in the bittersweet joy of the occasion.
Hope this helps.

Here's a link to a blog I enjoy. The guy lives in Minnesota and makes a point of regularly going on low-key, just tooling around bicycle rides in ordinary clothes. He looks under rocks, bridges, warehouses, etc. and takes lots of gorgeous pictures. He's a pretty good writer too and he advocates "slow-living". It just struck me as right in tune with your original post.

I have no connection whatsoever to him and his site is strictly a non-commercial, "pleasure-blog".
Let me know if you like it.

The other day I was having a panic-attack post here thinking my pre-teen son was inevitably going to get baptized. All the JWDers calmed me down some.
That evening I went for a 2-hour bike ride. The birds were chirping, the flowers were blooming. On my I-pod, Morrisey's "Sing Your Life" came up on random shuffle and at the end of the ride I saw a bumper sticker that said: "I BELIEVE IN LIFE BEFORE DEATH".
I'm sure it was all just coincidence, but my subconscious was screaming for relief and my environment provided it.
Getting outside is always a good thing.

by seek2find inanybody remember the 8 day 1969 international convention.
i was at the braves stadium in atlanta all 8 days with a sunburn and then wet clothes after the rain storms.

Vancouver, B.C.
I would love to relate a couple funny stories but if any lurker "friends" or dub family were to read them, they'd know it was me.
And yes, one of the stories relates to the amusement park.

Don't read this!! As I am really P....off at the WT and have to vent
by RedPill2006 intoday i have realized (once more) how the watchtower shit cult has ruined my life!

Dear Brother RedPill2006:
I'm assuming your username is a reference to the Matrix. Can I then also safely assume that you, an ELDER, watched an "R-Rated Movie"? How are you doing in regards to your choice of music? You've just flushed away any hopes of successfully getting through a Bethel application now! Tee hee!
I must say your actions have stumbled me, a currently active JW (surface only), and now I must continue in my slide down the rabbit hole towards regaining my brain by continuing to read here on JWD.
Don't you feel bad now?

p.s. It feels great to let off steam doesn't it? That's parts of what this site is for and much cheaper than "professional" help. Besides, we all know those *%($(% psychiatrists are just agents of Satan anyway.

From one techno-phobe to another:
You have my deepest sympathies.
OTOH, you know, if you'd just go back to the Kingdom Hall, they'd be happy to do all the programming for you.

Auxiliary Pioneers
by dothemath ina recent meeting stressed the usual pioneering for march and april.........in canada they want to reach a new peak of 20,000 auxiliary pioneers.. the article mentioned that would only require 20% of each congregations publishers.. we're not even close in our congregation........so far 4 out of 90 pubs.
how is the push going in other areas?.
i have my doubts they'll reach their goal..........will have to wait and see.

Open mind
Unfortunately, the groupthink took off like wildfire here and 34% of the pubs joined in this "never-to-be-repeated" (until next month) life-
savingdraining work. And, now............................(drumroll please).........................grab your whips and join me in some enthusiastic self-flagellation................because..................
I WAS ONE OF THEM!!!!!!
ROFPMGO. Translation: Rolling On Floor, Puking My Guts Out.
Now, before you get too carried away with those whips, hear me out. My wife was absolutely caught up in the lemming-like swarm scrambling for the little white applications and was not going to be swayed. ( I did try, but she wasn't buying it.) So, I figured, I'd rather use this opportunity to spend a lot of one-on-one time with my wife and plant some more seeds of independent thinking rather than be subjected to all the wonderul "experiences" she would inevitably be bringing to the dinner table. And, so far, it's gone pretty well.
All right, whip away! I'm not worthy of JWD!!!!!
